Alliance Historic Visionary Leadership

In 1969 the Wisconsin State Legislature enacted laws to license and regulate dispensing hearing instruments. The Wisconsin Alliance of Hearing Professionals has its roots in that effort. Over the years “The Wisconsin Model” was born, bringing hearing instrument specialists together with dispensing audiologists. In 1994 the Alliance worked with the Wisconsin Speech, Language and Hearing Association (WSHA) to enact laws to license and regulate the practice of audiology. In 1996 Alliance and WSHA leaders adopted an historic joint resolution recognizing “The Wisconsin Model” of cooperation for the betterment of the hearing impaired and for those who serve them. Today the Alliance continues its tradition of leadership and cooperation.
